Surviving with Weapons is a continuation of our popular first seminar on wilderness survival techniques. Our guide, Jim, will walk us through some of the earliest forms of weapons which can still be found and put to use in our local mountains.

We’ll revisit how to make fire the aboriginal way, how to shoot bow and arrow, throw atlatl dart/spear, sling, sling shot, rabbit stick, throwing stick, blow gun, dead fall trap, snare, etc. How to make and use knives for hunting, food, clothing, shelter, etc. If time allows we will make cordage, baskets and soap from natural plants.

Your walks through our local mountains will never look the same again.

What to Bring: Water, food, sunscreen, hat, knife, empty glass soda or glass beer bottle with flat bottom if possible (for making arrow point) and aluminum, plastic or cardboard container for target.
